Authorities announced last September 30, 2022, that due to the declining viral wave, Korea has withdrawn the COVID-19 polymerase chain reaction (PCR) testing requirement for incoming visitors on the first day of their arrival.

According to the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency (KDCA), anyone who exhibits virus symptoms within three days of arriving in this country is eligible for a free PCR test at any of the nation's public health facilities.

Due to a recent progressive drop in infections across the country, the South Korean government has eased antivirus restrictions. In comparison to the 29,097 cases reported a week earlier, the country reported 28,497 new COVID-19 infections on September 30, 2022.

The RT-PCR test upon arrival in Korea will no longer be required as of 1 October 2022.
