Good news for Filipino travelers! The South Korea Embassy is simplifying visa application requirements for eligible applicants, making the process easier and faster.
Starting February 1, 2024 until December 31, 2024, eligible applicants won't need to submit bank certificates, bank statements, or income tax returns (ITRs). This applies to both the applicants themselves and their immediate family members.
WHO QUALIFIES?

ELECTED POLITICIANS
Elected politicians include members of the Senate, members of the Congress, Governors, Provincial Board Members, and Mayors (City or Municipality). The exemption also extends to their immediate family members such as their parents, spouse, minor children (applicable for adult children who can prove to be students through documents), and their spouse's parents.
OTHER GOVERNMENT OFFICIALS
The exemption also applies to higher ranking government officials holding Assistant Secretary of the Executive Branch of the Philippine Government, and Brigadier General of the Armed Forces of the Philippines/Philippine National Police, excluding those in acting duties.
PROFESSIONAL LICENSE HOLDERS
Physicians, dentists, CPAs, pharmacists, and veterinarians with valid Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) ID just need to submit the original copy of their certificate of employment, and a copy of their PRC license ID. Likewise for lawyers, judges, and prosecutors, they should present a copy of their Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP) ID.
BDO Gold or BDO Elite Credit Card Holders
BDO Gold and BDO Elite credit card holders (excluding supplementary card holders) need to submit the original copy of their certificate of employment, a copy of their credit card front with card holder's complete information, and a copy of their monthly billing statements for the last three months.
Qualified type of BDO Gold credit cards are as follows:
• Mastercard Gold Credit Card
• Visa Gold Credit Card
• JCB Gold Credit Card
• UnionPay Gold Credit Card
• Diners Club International
• American Express Cashback Credit Card
• American Express Explorer Credit Card
Qualified type for the BDO Elite Level are as follows:
• Mastercard Titanium, Platinum and World Elite Credit Card
• Visa Platinum Credit Card
• JCB Platinum Credit Card
• UnionPay Diamond Credit Card
• Diners Club Premiere Credit Card
• American Express Platinum Credit Card
• American Express International Dollar Charge Cards (platinum, gold, and green)
Moreover, submission of other documents, such as proof of relationships, are required.
