Morocco: Casablanca to Marrakesh Trip Map

Dining Summary

  • 7 Breakfast (B)
  • 1 Dinner (D)

Included Experience

  • Chefchaouen: Get your bearings in Chefchaouen, weaving through the blue-washed medina set in Morocco’s Rif Mountains. Expect winding lanes, photo-ready corners, and a pass through Plaza Uta el-Hammam, the main square where you’ll spot the kasbah and the Grand Mosque before heading off to explore at your own pace.
  • Fes: Kick off with an orientation walk in Fes. You’ll see the Bab Bou Jeloud (the Blue Gate), then wander past souks and workshops where craft is still very much a daily thing, with historic sights woven in between. Your TM will help you get your bearings, point out key spots to come back to later, and share the context that makes Fes feel like stepping back a few centuries.
  • Merzouga: Saddle up and get ready for a sand-filled adventure atop an actual camel. A total bucket list moment!
  • Aït Ben Haddou: Explore Aït Ben Haddou on a short orientation walk through this UNESCO-listed ksar (fortified village) of earthen houses, high defensive walls, and corner watchtowers. Built along an old caravan route between the Sahara and Marrakesh, it’s one of Morocco’s most famous examples of southern clay architecture. Keep an eye out for familiar film backdrops too.
  • Marrakesh: Meet the women behind a local rug cooperative turning recycled textiles into beautiful, functional pieces, all made by hand. You’ll see the weaving process up close and hear how the cooperative supports fair employment, skills training, and a strong community. Many of the weavers are widows or primary earners for their families, and the co-op model means they can set prices, earn a fair share from each sale, and build real financial independence.
  • Marrakesh: Dive into Marrakesh with a local expert leading the way. You’ll wander the old medina’s maze-like lanes and move through the bustling souks, where stalls spill over with spices, crafts, colours, and everyday local life. It’s the best way to get your bearings and pick up a few insider tips for exploring later on your own.

Day 2 Casablanca To Chefchaouen

Grab brekkie and grab your bags, because we’re hitting the road to Chefchaouen, the famous Blue City where every alley is basically a photoshoot. On arrival, we’ll head out on a short orientation to get your bearings, then it’s free time to do you. Think rooftop views, cute cafes, and blue-on-blue streets that keep the camera roll working overtime. There’s an optional Arabic Calligraphy Class if you want to learn the art of those perfect swoops and the stories behind the script.

Day 3 Chefchaouen To Fes

Bye bye, blue beauty. Time to hit the road to Fes, the cultural capital and chaos-in-the-best-way medina city. Hello Fes. Our Local Guide will show us around as we weave past the maze-like lanes, buzzing souks, and artisan workshops that haven’t changed in generations. Tonight’s yours to play with, maybe scout a viewpoint, browse the night markets, or hunt down the best pastilla with your mates.

Day 5 Fes To Merzouga

Today, we'll leave behind the ancient city of Fes and head for the Sahara. This drive is the ultimate scene switch as we roll through the Middle Atlas, cedar forests, and mountain towns, then watch the landscape flip into palm-filled valleys and desert plains as we get closer to Merzouga. Today is all about desert time. We'll trek through the dunes on camelback (just like the locals), then come together for an included dinner with the crew. Tonight’s vibe = toes in the sand, warm air, and a sky full of stars that makes city lights look pointless.

Day 6 Merzouga To Aït Ben Haddou

This morning, we'll drive through rugged landscapes and epic natural stops, passing ancient kasbahs and palm valleys as we cruise part of the Road of a Thousand Kasbahs. The route brings us towards Aït Ben Haddou - Morocco’s movie-famous fortress village.  If this place feels like a film set, it's because it basically is. We'll kick off with an orientation of this striking red-earth village with its stacked houses, narrow lanes, and fortress walls that glow at golden hour. Then you've got free time after to explore the kasbah paths, pick a rooftop spot, and watch the light change over the valley.

Day 7 Aït Ben Haddou To Marrakesh

Next stop, Marrakesh. We'll cross the High Atlas Mountains via the winding Tizi n’Tichka Pass, with big views, tiny hillside villages, and plenty of “pull over for a pic” moments along the way. First, we'll visit a rug cooperative to see the craft up close (and support the women who make it happen). Then it’s guided tour time, weaving through the medina, souks, and historic sights that give Marrakesh its legendary energy. Hungry? An optional Moroccan cooking class is up for grabs. Want the ultimate reset? Opt in for a massage at a hammam spa to finish the day feeling brand new.
