Starting March 01, 2022, The Embassy of Japan in Manila will now accept applications for the below visa categories, such as:
NEW VISA CATEGORY
1. Visa Application with Certificate of Eligibility for:
a. Technical Internship/Work
b. Student
2. Business
3. Visiting Relative extended to Family members such as:
a. Siblings
b. Grandparent
c. Grandchild
4. SOFA Status (Status of forces agreement)
CURRENT VISA CATEGORY
1. Visa Applications with Certificate of Eligibility for:
a. Spouses or Child of Japanese Nationals
b. Spouses or Child of a Long term Permanent residents
c. Professor or Instructor in an Institutions
d. Medical Practitioner
e. Dependent
2. Diplomat and/or Official Purposes
3. Humanitarian and/or Urgent Purposes
4. Re-Entry Permit for former Permanent Resident
5. Visiting Relative, limited to:
a. Spouse
b. parents
c. children
To strengthen the application for new visa categories under #1 and #2, the applicant should submit the “Certificate for Completion of Registration” to the Entrants, Returnees Follow-up System (ERFS). This additional requirement should be included in the documents to be submitted to support the application. The Embassy of Japan in Manila will continue to suspend the acceptance of visa applications for the following categories:
1. Tourism
2. Visiting Distant Relative/Friend
