Bangkok Canal Trip

or 1300H-1730H

This tour is basically a klong (canal) tour because there is no longer an active or genuine floating market due to the modernization of Bangkok. The trip start early morning to take a boat ride (long-tailed speed boat or big express passenger boat) along the Chao Phyra River. Proceed to the west bank of the river then turn into small canals, attraction of this trip is the scenery along both side of the river: the contrast between high modern buildings and small typical Thai houses along the river. Beautiful Buddhist temples are also located along both banks of the river. The trip can include a stop Wat Arun the Temple of Dawn. This klong tour can also be done in the late morning or early afternoon. It is one of the most interesting and funfilled ways of exploring Bangkok. The short trip on the Chao Phyra River or along any of the numerous klongs (canals) that criss-cross the city will give fascinating glimpse of the bustling and vital life centered on Bangkok’s waterways. River tripping is one of the oldest and coolest forms of local travel and can come as a welcome respite from the heat and congestion of Bangkok’s streets 42

The Thai, however, regrouped outside Ayuthaya and in a short time drove off the Brumese occupation force. Fifteen years later, the new capital of Bangkok was built with Ayuthayay as model. The red brick ruins of Ayuthaya Grand Palace and principal temples have been restored so that outstanding architectural features can be discerned. The main stop will be Wat Mongkhol Bopit, which houses the largest bronze Buddha image in Thailand. The image was partially destroyed during the sacking of Ayuthaya, and was recently restored and venerated as the symbol of the unconquerable fighting spirit of the Thai. The ruins on the right side entrance into Wat Mongkol Bopit is Wat Phra Si Samphet the principal royal temple. Later generation architectures had reconstructed the design of the temple from historical records and built the replica at the Ancient City outside Bangkok.
